Securing the Basics: Advancing Economic Stability and Job Access

Overview
Securing the Basics: Advancing Economic Stability and Job Access is a community conversation designed for residents and stakeholders in Bartlett, Lakeland, and across District 3 who are concerned about job access and financial stability. This event brings together neighbors, schools, churches, local leaders, and service providers to explore how we can work together to reduce economic strain and increase opportunity.

From rising living costs to limited job pathways, residents across District 3 are feeling the pressure. This event is about turning those concerns into action by learning from experts, connecting with resources, and collaborating on grassroots solutions that strengthen our communities from the inside out.

Why This Matters
A recent community survey of District 3 residents revealed:

  • 57.78% either doubt or are unsure about the availability of local job opportunities.
  • 26.67% worry about affording food, electricity, or rent a few times per year.

These findings point to a clear need for improved job access and stronger systems of support. Residents are looking for more stable employment options, help meeting basic needs, and a clearer path forward.
