Description

A memorial service commemorating the life and work of Liu Xiaobo, the recipient of the 2010 Nobel Peace Prize and one of China's foremost pro-democracy activists and writers, and celebrating Liu Xia, the Beijing-based poet, artist, and activist.

The service will include readings of Liu Xiaobo and Liu Xia's works by:

  • Berit Reiss-Andersen, Chair of the Norwegian Nobel Committee
  • Juan Mendez, Professor at American University and former UN Special Rapporteur on Torture
  • Li Xiaorong, independent scholar
  • Yang Jianli, President of Initiatives for China

Open to the public, seating limited. Doors will open at 9:30AM.
