This presentation will provide participants with a brief introduction to Brainspotting as a Neuroexperiential Model and its potential for integrating into art therapy practice. The discovery of Brainspotting, its basic concepts, and implications for healing trauma will be reviewed. Participants will be guided through the use of self-spotting combined with an art expression

Our Presenter is Dr. Teresa L. Jackson is a licensed psychologist in the State of Texas and a Board-Certified Art Therapist, Certified Brainspotting Practitioner, and Mindful Based Stress Reduction Certified Clinician. She has twenty plus years of experience in mental health treatment. She founded Montgomery Behavioral Health Institute, LLC in 2011. She has partnered with adults, children, and families on their journey, who come seeking support in healing and improving their overall well-being. Her expertise includes working with individuals experiencing trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, eating disorders, life transitions, and other stress related concerns. As part of her private practice work, she offers psychotherapy services for adults and uses Brainspotting, mindfulness practices, art therapy, and Cognitive Behavior Therapy interventions directed toward healing at a neurobiological level.
