Overview of The Work That Reconnects

I would like to invite you to begin your own apprenticeship to The Work That Reconnects. This open-sourced resource by Joanna Macy and Molly Young Brown invites imagination and community connection to the Earth, More-Than-Human community and other humans as remedies to our current social, environmental, personal and spiritual upheaval for liberation and healing. I use it to for myself, to support my individual and group spiritual companions.

I have been apprenticing to this process of connecting to the Earth, gratitude, grief, imagination and social change for three years. The Work That Reconnects Spiral starts with gratitude and moves through and with suffering to liberation and our work in the world.

This 30 minute workshop will be an introduction to the Spiral. It will not be recorded to honor the personal sharing of participants.

Zoom application installed on smartphone or laptop.

Materials:

Notebook, writing utensils for journaling, drawing and reflection prompts. A cup of tea and setting where you feel comfortable and will be undisturbed.

H i! I'm Justin Ferko (he/they). I'll be your guide in this Earth-connection practice. I identify as a queer Earth poet. I love helping folks connect to their own wisdom paths.

My background includes guiding Forest Bathing walks in-person and online, training folks in the art of Spiritual Companionship with Oasis Ministries for Spiritual Development and The Spiritual Life Center of West Hartford, CT. I also bring two years of supervising students in the Interspiritual Counseling and Companioning program with One Spirit Seminary, completion of my spiritual direction training and deepening year with Oasis Ministries for Spiritual Development, five years as a professional Palliative Care and Trauma chaplain and graduate degrees in theology (MTS) and teaching (EdM TESOL).
