Are kids allowed to attend?

Yes! Kids 5 and under are allowed free entry to the event. Ages 6-12 are $5 and do not receive a hand-painted bowl, and 13+ is the cost of a regular ticket.

Can I pay for extra hand-painted bowls?

Yes! Extra hand-painted bowls will be at regular ticket price. You can purchase extra bowls on the day of the event, on EventBrite, or at the Pantry at 806 Fayette, Bastrop, TX.

Will there be vegetarian options?

There is no guarantee of vegetarian or vegan options. But, each soup will list its allergens, and we will do our best to label each soup.

What is the Empty Bowl Project?

The National Empty Bowls Project is a grassroots movement by artists and craftspeople to raise money and awareness for food-related charities. Each bowl is a reminder of the empty bowls in our community.

The Bastrop County Emergency Food Pantry proudly serves the Elgin community and its residents who are experiencing hunger. We invite you to come out to Elgin High School on Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 11 am - 1:30 pm.

Delight your tastebuds by sampling soups, stews, and chilies prepared by some of Elgin's best chefs. Every attendee will have the chance to vote for their Fan Favorite among all participating soup vendors. Each ticketed attendee will also get to take home a hand-painted ceramic soup bowl and the satisfaction that they have helped tackle hunger for Elginites in need.
