This course provides an introduction to the art and science of precision long range shooting. This class will be a mix of classroom instruction and live fire training, covering topics such as the shot process, ballistics, effective use of optics, and reading wind. Students will then get to put this knowledge to practice on the range engaging targets from distances of 50 - 520 yards and participating in various drills to develop and test their skills.
Class equipment requirements:
- A scoped bolt action or semi-auto rifle capable of firing sub 2 MOA five round groups (no magnum calibers)
- at least 120 rounds of high quality ammo, of the same brand, bullet weight, and bullet type (match grade ammo strongly recommended)
- Note taking materials
- Weather appropriate clothing and footwear
- Eye and ear protection
- drinks, snacks, and lunch - plan on lunch being a "working lunch"
