8 Hour Armed Guard Refresher Training - Tucson

This class is for existing Arizona Armed Guards to fulfill the DPS annual requalification requirement.

We will meet on the side of the road, at 11900 N. Sanders road in Marana. I will meet everyone by the road, and we will proceed down the dirt road to the Marana Shooting Club range, which is an outdoor range. Dress appropriately, taking into consideration the weather and temperature, wear a hat, as there is no shade nearby.. At the range, we will complete the 8-hour written test, then on to the qualification.

Participants should contact the Instructor (Carl) at 520-834-0389 to confirm the current meeting time. Range time depends on the number of participants, which can be anywhere from 1-4 hours on average.

Please Bring:

Range, bring - Lunch, Snacks, and Refreshments (Water / Soda)

Firearm, 9mm or better (.40, .45, etc.)

Level 2 Duty Holster or better

2 extra Magazines/mag belt carrier

100 rounds of ammo (Allows for Re-try just in case)

Eye and Ear Protection

Sun protection (Hat / Sunscreen)

Jacket (In cooler weather)

Arizona law requires a person to obtain a 70% (175) shooting accuracy to maintain their qualification.

However, Lionheart Staff taking the course must qualify with a 90% (225) as we have always held our armed security guards to an even higher standard. In addition, all fired hits must remain on the target silhouette even if they miss the target zone.
