Please join us on Wednesday, September 20th in the Skylight Gallery for a lively evening of music in celebration of Thomas Tierney's new album, A Tune of His Own. New York theater performers Bijou Clinger, Eddie Korbich, and Frank Hankey will be joining him. After the program, the conversation and conviviality will continue over dinner downstairs.

Coffee House member Thomas Tierney has been composing songs since the 5th grade, and he will be sharing some of these on Wednesday evening. His musicals include NARNIA (based on The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe), Tommy Tune’s one-man ICHABOD and ELEANOR—An American Love Story, based on the early lives of Eleanor and Franklin Roosevelt. Tom also wrote the Coffee House Centennial tribute song “Welcome to the Coffee House” and The Year of Living Dangerously with member Jeffrey Haddow.

Bijou Clinger is a singer /actress who has had the privilege of performing in several Tierney-Forster musicals and originated the role of Eleanor Roosevelt in their “Eleanor”—performing it in New York, in Seattle’s Village Theatre and on tour. She has also written the books for two musicals with her husband, composer Gregory Miller. She is a graduate of the SUNY at Purchase theater arts program.

Eddie Korbich was last seen on Broadway singing his high notes in The Music Man with Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster and as the Policeman in the Encores! production of Dear World. Before that came 11 other Broadway shows, 10 Off-Broadway shows, National tours, a Drama Desk nomination, an Obie Award and more. He is also a very proud Ukrainian American.

Frank Hankey is delighted to revisit this material, having played FDR in Tom Tierney’s First Lady with TheaterWorks USA. He most recently performed in the premiere of Margo Hammond’s Horseshoe Empire as the legendary and notorious Jersey City mayor Frank Hague. He has worked on Broadway (End of the World) Off-Broadway (The Dining Room, The Cocktail Hour), extensively in regional and summer theaters (Boston, Salt Lake City, Cincinnati, Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Washington, Mamaronek, Williamstown) and on TV (Trial of Standing Bear). He studied acting at Brandeis University and studies voice with Nancy Evers.
