HOSTED BY: Sir Harvey Fitz

Two-time DMV Renaissance Award winner Harvey Fitz is a curator of cultural awesomeness. He’s a multifaceted creative—freelance photographer, theatrically trained actor, producer, author, and spoken word artist, just to name a few. In 2017, he developed and still hosts Poetic Vibes Open Mic, a safe space platform for creatives that became the subject of a 2018 Georgetown University documentary, which won the coveted Beek Center Social Impact & Innovation Award.

On Leap Day 2020, he created and curated the Black to The Future Festival in the historic Anacostia neighborhood, uniting 100+ Black-owned businesses, artists, and authors to connect with over 1,000 attendees. His debut poetry book, To Haiku’m It May Concern, received critical acclaim, and in 2022 he was crowned King of Haiku at the first-ever Haiku Verzuz Championship.

In June 2023, he won the Art to Go-Go Spoken Word Championship, laying the foundation for his groundbreaking project Art Official: Intelligence—the first-ever spoken word album performed entirely over original Go-Go music. Released in June 2025, the album is a rhythmic call-to-action, cultural archive, and Grammy-submitted body of work executive produced by Go-Go legend Shorty Corleone. It’s a genre-bending tribute to Black oral tradition and the heartbeat of DC.

Harvey’s passion for the arts has opened doors, built bridges, and placed him in rooms and conversations far beyond his wildest dreams—and he’s just getting started.
