4th Annual Arbor Day 5K and Native Tree Giveaway

Overview

Celebrate Arbor Day with a Challenging 5K Trail Race on the Bear Creek Educational Forest and Leave with Your Choice of Native Tree.

Race will begin at 9am EST.

Racecourse combines the Bear Creek Loop, Spur Trail, and a brief section of service roads. Course will wind through open Longleaf Pine savannahs, shaded upland forests, and enclosed wetlands. Course is moderately hilly with several challenge hills. Miles will be marked, and a water station will be available at the halfway point. Restrooms, water, light snacks, and an official race clock will be present at the start/finish line.


The top 3 female and male runners, top 3 youth (under 18), and all canines will receive a handmade medal.


Walkers are always welcome. Please keep in mind that the course is not fit for strollers.


Tree Giveaway will begin at 9:30am and is first come, first serve. Giveaway will be limited to 3 per household. Giveaway will be open from 9:30am-11am or until all trees are vouched for. Race participation is not required for the giveaway.


Giveaway species will be announced closer to event date.
