This four-week series is designed to progressively enhance core strength and stability, with each week focusing on a different aspect:

Week 1: Breath & Pelvic Floor - This week focuses on foundational techniques. Classes will revolve around understanding and controlling the breath, which is key in yoga. Special attention will be given to the pelvic floor muscles, essential for core strength. Practices will include breathing exercises (Pranayama) and gentle asanas (poses) that engage and strengthen the pelvic floor.

Week 2: Abs, Spine, & Posture - Building on the first week, the focus shifts to strengthening the abdominal muscles and improving spinal health. Posture-improving asanas will be a core component, helping participants understand how a strong core supports a healthy spine. This week will include a mix of dynamic and static poses targeting the abs and back muscles.

Week 3: Core Stability for Balance - The third week aims to enhance core stability, which is crucial for balance. This will involve asanas that challenge balance and stability, emphasizing the engagement of core muscles to maintain poses. Exercises will include standing and balancing postures, which require and build a strong, stable core.

Week 4: Application to Dynamic Movements - In the final week, the focus is on integrating the core strength and stability developed in the previous weeks into dynamic movements. This will involve flowing sequences (Vinyasa) that require core engagement for smooth transitions between poses. The aim is to demonstrate how a strong core enhances overall movement efficiency and control in yoga and daily activities.

In addition to the targeted weekly focuses, this four-week core strength yoga series is designed to equip participants with the foundational skills and confidence needed to successfully join and benefit from our regularly scheduled Core Strength and Stretch classes. Each week builds upon the last, ensuring a comprehensive understanding and development of core strength, stability, and flexibility, preparing participants for more advanced and ongoing core-focused yoga practices
