About this event

Sourdough Summer Baking Camp for Kids (Ages 9–14)
Monday Aug 11 –Thursday Aug 14 | 9:00 AM–12:00 PM
$150 per student – All supplies included!

Get ready for a fun-filled week of flour, fermentation, and flavor! This hands-on baking camp is perfect for beginner bakers ages 9–14 who are eager to learn essential kitchen skills while whipping up delicious, healthy treats for friends and family.

Why sourdough? Sourdough is more than just trendy bread—it’s an ancient, natural fermentation method that creates healthier, easier-to-digest baked goods full of flavor and character. While the process can seem a little intimidating at first (starter? folding? fermentation?), we’ll break it all down in simple, age-appropriate steps. By the end of the week, your child will feel confident and capable in the kitchen—with sourdough skills they can use for life.

Throughout the week, students will learn to make several sourdough-based recipes, including:
🥖 Classic Sourdough Boules
🍞 Sourdough Sandwich Bread
🍪 Sourdough Chocolate Chip Cookies
🥯 Homemade Sourdough Bagels
🍌 Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins

Whether your child has never cracked an egg or already loves to bake, this class is designed to be approachable, educational, and a whole lot of fun. We’ll be in the kitchen cooking up a storm, with a short break each day to enjoy a snack.

I’ve had the joy of teaching over 400 individuals—primarily adults—the art of sourdough baking in my home kitchen. Now, I’m thrilled to bring that same passion and experience to this hands-on camp designed especially for kids! Sourdough baking is a timeless skill that has been largely lost over the generations, but I’m eager to help bring it back—starting with the next generation of bakers.

All supplies are provided – including a kitchen scale, bread pan, apron, and a bubbly jar of sourdough starter to take home at the end of the week.

Parents, feel free to drop off your kids and enjoy your morning while they learn, create, and come home each day with new skills and tasty treats.
