CETI Lab at PSU. FMH 218.

Come learn (almost) all the ways to scan objects. We will demo the various tools and processes, test different sort of objects so we cna compare the effectiveness of the various techniques.

Tools:Cell phones, cameras, iPad, 360 cameras, We will scan with our Einscan-SP Pro scanner for small objects, the hand-held one for large objects (and humans).

Apps: Scaniverse, polycam, reality scan, luma ai, reality capture

Materials: If you have one and want to use your own device, bring one of the devices listed above.

Prerequisites: All are welcome. These ar egreat tools for spatial creation (games and XR), for documenting 3d work or objects in museums, and to create designs for mold making and 3d printing.

Note: the flashing lights on the larger 3D scanner can potentially trigger seizures in a person with photosensitive epilepsy. It will be in a separate room but please do let us know when you register.
