360 Artist: The Art of Visibility with Jamie Benson
Overview
Join The Next Festival of Emerging Artists for the launch of the 360 Artist Professional Development Series.
Every third Thursday of the month, we feature a prominent artist who shares their journey and engages in dialogue with our alumni and community.
This month we welcome Jamie Benson, an adventurous comedic artist heralded as "Chaplin-like” by Backstage, “Insightful and Irreverent” by LA Weekly, and "Crazy" by the Dance Enthusiast. His highbrow meets lowbrow creative work has been presented around the US, across the international film festival circuit, within the Phaidon book "Wild Art", and on RuPaul's Drag Race, as well as funded by the Brooklyn Arts Council.
As a marketing consultant, he revolutionizes how creative industries champion worthy causes, and has worked with Sony Pictures, Houston Symphony, Pilobolus Dance Theater, Kupferberg Center for the Arts, Lower Manhattan Cultural Center, Joyce Theater, NYU Tisch, Actors Fund, Theater Development Fund, and more. Through workshops on music entrepreneurship, freelancing, PR, leadership, and more, this series expands The Next Festival's mission to nurture complete, 360-degree artists beyond its summer season, as part of our Alumni Network.
The Next Festival Alumni Network brings together acclaimed guest artists, nonprofit leaders, and Festival alumni to create a year-round community where collaborations spark, mentorship thrives, and artistic exchange flourishes across generations.
