2nd Annual Flanner Fringe Lab
Overview
The Flanner Fringe Festival is back!
Named an Indy Arts Council award-winning collaboration in 2025, Flanner Fringe returns February 6 & 7, 2026 with more new plays, more voices, and more community.
Hosted by IF Theatre and Flanner House Arts & Stage Academy, the festival continues its mission:
to create a home for new Black stories, emerging playwrights, and bold theatrical experimentation.
Over two nights, audiences will experience readings of brand-new works developed through our New Works Stage Reading Lab, featuring writers who are expanding the language of contemporary theatre. These early drafts represent the beginning of powerful artistic journeys, and Flanner Fringe is where those journeys take their first public steps.
This year’s festival spans the Flanner House campus, including:
- Cleo’s Bodega — intimate readings + local vibes
- Ujamaa Bookstore — literature, culture, and conversation
- Morning Star (Cloud Room) — community gathering & performance space
As Flanner Fringe grows into one of the city’s most exciting Black arts events, we are calling in:
✨ Volunteers (ushers, greeters, production assistants, social media runners)
✨ Donors & supporters who believe in accessible arts and emerging Black voices
✨ Community members who want to witness the future of theatre being born
Whether you’re a theatre lover, a storyteller, a student, or a neighbor this festival is for you.
Save the date. Show up. Support new voices.
Flanner Fringe is becoming a city tradition. Join us for Year Two.
