  • 9:30-10:15 a.m. Opening General Session, dance performance by area school, Welcome by school and district officials, Keynote speaker
  • 10:15-10:30 a.m. Break, Career, College, Resource Fair
  • 10:30-11:30 a.m. Session 1, for students, for educators, plus Career, College, Resource Fair
  • 11:30-12:30 p.m. Session 2 for students, for educators, plus Career, College, Resource Fair
  • 12:30-1:00 p.m. Lunch plus Career, College, Resource Fair, Dance performances: by area schools
  • 1:00-2:30 p.m. Closing Session, Keynote Educator Panel, Student, Educator, Community Awards, Dance performances by Morse High School, final remarks by NPIEN Board

Virtual: The confernce will also be streamed virtually for attendees not in the San Diego area, but you must register to receive the link. It will be sent to you the week of the conference.

Who is the conference for?

All students grades K-12 and college, their families, educators and school staff, and all community organizations and members who support students.

Is there a cost?

Do you need to be a Pacific Islander to attend?

The conference has a focus on Pacific Islanders but all are invited to attend, the entire village

What will the Keynote Speakers talk about?

Their experiences as Pacific Islanders in education and advice for our students about the importance of higher education.

What will the breakout sessions discuss?

There will be student sessions on dance, playing the ukulele, and how to be successful in school. The educator sessions will discuss strategies on how to support student success. All will have a focus on support for Pacific Islanders.

Can parents and community members attend?

They can, and the sessions will support them in their role as parents and student supporters.

What is the Career, College and Resource Fair?

This is a session that continues throughout the entire conference. Some choose to visit here in lieu of other sessions. You can also visit during breakfast and breaks. Colleges and universities, and exhibitors featuring possible careers, plus other community resources will be in attendance.

What is the agenda for the virtual conference attendees?

For now, you will be able to participate in all of the general sessions. We are unable to broadcast the break-out sessions.
