2026 Wayzata Chilly Open Chili Cookoff Sign-up

Event Date: Saturday, February 7, 2026

Location: 19th Hole Tent, in the 6smith Parking Lot

Overview:

The idea is to have several local restaurants in one large tent serving their "Specialty Chili” to over 2,000+ golfers. This, in turn, gives golfers a place to escape during the cold weather or after they have finished playing golf. The competition will be judged by a panel of select judges and will also be scored by the golfers themselves. A confirmation packet with additional information will be emailed end of January. Only restaurants or businesses with a state-licensed kitchen are eligible to participate.

Chamber Provides:

The Chamber provides the large hospitality 19th Hole Tent, the Wayzata City's special event itinerant food license (umbrella policy) permit, heaters, two 20 amp plug-ins and two tables per restaurant.

You Provide:

You are to provide your own signs to promote your business, themed décor (The 2026 theme is... “LIVE FROM WAYZATA – IT’S THE CHILLY OPEN!” (SNL inspired), along with napkins, utensils, serving dishes or Dixie cups, water (for hotwells), a handwashing station, and extension cords. As a participating restaurant you would need to provide a food sampling for over 2,000 people, people to staff your area in the tent from 10:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (Serving time) on Saturday, February 7th, 2026 and any cooking equipment.
