What is the goal of the Ski Development Team?

The program is designed to help young skiers, ages 7–17, develop a lifelong love for skiing through skill development, racing techniques, and fun on the slopes. Volunteer parent coaches focus on safety, enjoyment, and learning while helping participants reach their goals.

What skill level is required to participate?

Skiers must be able to confidently ski all blue trails unassisted, load and unload the chairlift independently, and demonstrate the ability to stop and turn under control. This ensures all participants can safely enjoy and benefit from the program.

What days and times are sessions held?

Saturdays (9:30–11:45 AM) – For advanced beginner and intermediate skiers
Dates: Jan 3, 10, 24, 31; Feb 7, 14, 21, 28

Wednesdays (6:00–7:30 PM) – For advanced skiers refining racing skills
Dates: Jan 7, 14, 21, 28; Feb 4, 11, 18, 25

Do parents need to stay during the sessions?

Yes. A parent or responsible adult must remain onsite during all sessions.

Where should we store skis, boots, and other gear?

Please keep all gear neatly stored in the designated gear areas (shelves) or outside on the racks provided. Do not leave personal items or equipment on tables or walkways inside the lodge, as this creates safety and space concerns for guests.

Can families save tables inside the lodge during sessions?

We ask that families do not reserve or save tables for extended periods. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis so everyone can enjoy the lodge comfortably.

Can we bring our own food or crock pots into the lodge?

Accepted Answer

Outside restaurant food, crock pots, and other plug-in food warmers are not permitted inside Seven Oaks facilities. Mallory's Café, Bennett's Brew and Coal Creek Lounge offer a variety of food and beverage options for your convenience.

What should participants wear or bring?

Dress in layers for changing weather conditions. Helmets and proper ski equipment is required. Don’t forget gloves, goggles, and a positive attitude!

What happens if there’s bad weather?

In the event of extreme weather or unsafe slope conditions, sessions may be postponed, rescheduled or canceled. Updates will be communicated on Ski Development Facebook Page.

What is the cost to participate?

The registration fee is $75 per participant for the full program season.

When is the registration deadline?

Registration closes on December 30, 2025 (or sooner if the program fills). Early registration is recommended as space is limited.

Do participants need a lift pass?

Yes. Participants must purchase a Seven Oaks season pass or a daily lift ticket for each class session. Passes are not included in the registration fee.

Can snowboarders participate in the Youth Development Program?

Accepted Answer

Unfortunately, we don’t currently have qualified snowboard coaches, so the Youth Development Program is limited to skiers at this time.
