What's going on with food this year?

We have our usual great options to fuel you up for dancing! There will be a potluck on Friday evening and a continental breakfast on Sunday morning. Delicious snacks will be provided throughout the weekend.

Can I buy tickets just for the Friday or Saturday night dance?

Day passes will be available starting February 1, 2026 and at the door.

Question 3

Is this open to the public? I have a friend who really wants to try contra dance

Accepted Answer

While your friend can certainly buy a ticket, this is a full-weekend, high-level dance geared toward experienced dancers. Beginners will have a much better time at our monthly Friday or Saturday dances instead: find us on Facebook or the Charleston Folk website to learn more.

Question 4

Is there any way to get a cheaper ticket?

If you are willing to work a total of 8 hours during the weekend to make this Bug Stomp the best it can be, there are a limited number of $80 Volunteer tickets available. If you wish to volunteer, please send an email to CharlestonFolkContra.Volunteers@gmail.com

Can I stay with a local dancer?

Some local housing may be available, but it is not guaranteed. Housing requests will be considered beginning December 1, 2025. To offer housing, or request it after December 1, please email palmettobugstomp@gmail.com with HOUSING in the subject line.

Question 6

I signed up for the dance, but now I cannot attend. Do you offer refunds?

So sorry to hear that! You sure are missing out! We may be able to refund you if you get in touch before February 15, 2026. After that, we do not offer refunds for any reason. For cancellations, contact us at palmettobugstomp@gmail.com and we will do our best to forge a fair outcome for all.
