2026 Launch Pad Pilot Program – Information & Sign-Up
Presented by the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, in partnership with Fraport, the 2026 Launch Pad Pilot Program offers local small businesses a unique opportunity to showcase their brand through a 3-month pop-up at a Retail Merchandising Unit (RMU) in National Hall at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.
This short-term RMU opportunity allows businesses to test their concept in a dynamic, high-visibility airport environment while engaging thousands of travelers each day.
The program includes two participation periods:
- Registration opens: December 19, 2025
- Phase 1: March 1 – June 1 (3 months)
- Phase 2: July 1 – September 30 (3 months)

- Round 1: February 15 – May 15, 2026
- Round 2: May 15 – August 15, 2026
Selected businesses must be prepared to operate seven days a week from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., delivering consistent, high-quality customer service.
We are seeking operators with distinctive, high-quality products, a compelling brand story, and the ability to perform in a fast-paced, customer-facing setting.
As part of the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport Short-Term RMU Opportunity, participants will benefit from the following:
We Provide:
- Retail Merchandising Unit (RMU)
- Basic signage
Applicants Must Provide:
- A 2–3 page proposal
- A pro forma (financial projections)
- The rent/financial form, completed and signed
- Confirmation of agreement to sign the Temporary Retail License Agreement (TRLA) if selected
