Is the Jr. Fire Academy for you?

Are you interested in learning what it is like to be a firefighter or emergency responder?

In addition to teaching teamwork and learning what it takes to become a firefighter, you will be immersed in the life of the Fire and EMS service.

  • Camp is open to students from anywhere in the U.S.
  • Students must be between 12 and 18.
  • Students must be capable of strenuous physical activity.
  • Parents are responsible for getting children to and from camp.
  • Students will follow all Blount County BOE policies and procedures, including technology use guidelines, as outlined in the current parent/student handbook and the current student code of conduct.
  • Students will not be allowed to have cell phones.
  • Students will follow the directions of the Academy Directors and Staff at all times.

Will lunch be provided?

Yes, Lunch will be provided by either the Blount County Board of Education or a sponsor of our summer fire camp.

Does my child need to bring anything?

A change of clothes and a good attitude. We will work hard and we will have fun.
