What is the Utah Lake Symposium?

The Utah Lake Symposium is a gathering of invested people to discuss the management of Utah Lake. This includes state entities, scientists, policymakers, lawmakers, industry experts and more. Over the course of two days, presentations will cover a variety of topics.

What day should I attend?

You are free to attend both days, if you want. The cost of admission covers both days. Day 1 is for the general public and the presentations will be geared for the lay person. Day 2 is for industry experts and scientists and will be more technical in nature.

Is there a discount for buying tickets for both the Symposium and the dinner?

Yes! In the ticket section, there is an option to buy both at a discounted rate.

Why are you charging for attendance?

The tickets cover the cost of food for breakfast and lunch both days and the dinner on Oct. 30.

The Utah Lake Authority loves and values Utah Lake. We also recognize that it is part of a larger watershed and is vital to the future of Great Salt Lake. Moreover, Utah Lake connects, and can contribute so much, to the communities that surround it. How can we work together to ensure Utah Lake contributes all it can to ecological, watershed, and human communities?

Federal, state, and local lawmakers, scientists, and community leaders will present on the topic. Light breakfast and lunch will also be served.

Thursday, Oct. 30 will focus on more general knowledge for the lay person.

Friday, Oct. 31 will be for industry experts and will be more technical in nature.

New to this year's symposium will be the Utah Lake Monster Ball dinner on Oct. 31 at the Provo City Library. ULA Executive Director Luke Peterson will report on progress over the past year and make some exciting announcements for 2026.
