Join us for our fourteenth annual Speakers Series event! Our keynote speaker will be Mike Willis, Associate Director, Office of Data Science and Innovation, Division of Economic and Risk Analysis, US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Our ethics speaker will be Dr. Ivy Munoko, Assistant Professor at the University of Florida, Warrington College of Business.
Mike is the Associate Director of the Office of Data Science and Innovation at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, where he is responsible for leading the design and implementation of technological processes, artificial intelligence and data analytical tools and innovations to support the many analytical needs of the Commission, including the creation, implementation, and maintenance of forms, tools and processes designed to capture, analyze and disseminate structured data submitted by SEC registrants through their filings with the Commission. He is also the SEC's representative on the Regulatory Oversight Committee and has previously served as its Chair. Mike is a retired PricewaterhouseCoopers Partner.
Ivy is an Assistant Professor at the University of Florida, Warrington College of Business. Her research focus is on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Accounting. Her work has received grant support from the National Science Foundation and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. She has presented her AI research to various bodies, including US and International Regulators, who are exploring the ethical implications of using AI in Accounting. Ivy has also served as a speaker at several professional and academic conferences, workshops, webinars, and podcasts to encourage accounting professionals to incorporate AI to advance the profession thoughtfully. She has over six years of combined experience in technology and accounting. She has had several corporate roles, including an IT Project Manager and Systems Auditor, directly related to operational and financial systems development, risk and control assessments, managing process automation and improvements, and leading various phases of diverse technology projects. In the past, Ivy has served as a member of the ISACA Emerging Technology Advisory Group, which partners with ISACA Global to identify emerging technologies and their application in industry, as well as to support activities required to create the necessary content to address the impact of emerging technology.
A continental breakfast will be available before the speaker presentations begin, starting at 7:30 am. Speaker presentations will begin at 8:30 am. Event concludes at 12:30 pm.
Regular tickets are $100 ($120 after September 5); students attend free.
CPE credit: Two ethics and two accounting CPE credit hours approved by the Nebraska Board of Public Accountancy.
