Frequently asked questions

Can I ride my e-bikes?

All e-bikes as outlined in the Minnesota definition of e-bikes in Class I, II, or III are welcome to join BikeMN rides (we do not provide charging along the route so make sure you select the route suitable for your battery life). Analog bicycles, adaptive bikes, tandems, recumbents, tricycles, cargo

Where do registration fees go?

By registering for the Twin Cities Bike Tour, you directly contribute to BikeMN’s statewide efforts in promoting active transportation. Our dedicated chapters, improve walkability and bikeability in communities across Minnesota. Registration and sponsorship dollars not only support these initiatives

Where do I park my car?

We encourage biking to the start - park at Northrup Elementary (4315 S 31st Ave, Mpls) and Keewaydin Elementary (5209 30th Ave S, Mpls) and bike to Wabun. Parking near Minnehaha and Wabun parks are paid lots. Blue Line light rail at Ft. Snelling park-and-ride and get off at the 50th/Minnehaha stop.

Are all routes on bike trails?

The 20 mile and 34 mile routes use about 98% dedicate bicycle infrastructure - the immediate start leaving Wabun Park uses the roadway via Veterans bridge. The 41 mile route has a 4 mile stretch in which most riders will be more comfortable riding in the road than the adjacent "path."

What happened to the family-friendly shorter route?

It's still happening the day before the Twin Cities Bike Tour. Consider it the TCBT pre-ride warm up ride! We are offering a FREE 4.5 Mile Family-Friendly Ride on Saturday September 13th 2025 Starting and Ending at Brackett Park. Capped at 100 riders. https://www.bikemn.org/all-events/loons-loop
