What is Talk It Out, Walk It Out?

An awareness walk and community event to raise awareness of the health disparities impacting Black women. It’s a movement that connects the community to resources, services, and each other. There will be a community walk around the museum grounds and a full lineup of engaging activities.

When and where will the event take place?

Saturday, August 2nd at the Charles H. Wright Museum, 315 E. Warren Ave, Detroit, MI 48201.
This event will flow between indoor spaces inside the museum and outdoor areas on the surrounding grounds.

Do I have to participate in the walk portion of the event?

Accepted Answer

No – Talk It Out, Walk It Out offers a variety of activities beyond the walk. You can shop the "For Us" marketplace, get a health screening, attend mini-workshops, and more. Check out the Agenda tab for more details on the full lineup of activities.

Is there a registration fee to attend the event?

Accepted Answer

Registration is completely free. However, if you’d like to support the event, you can make a donation or purchase a walk t-shirt during the registration process.

Can I bring friends and family to the event?

Yes, the event is open to all who want to learn about, support, and empower Black women's health. Registration is required, so be sure to have them register. You can also fundraise together by visiting https://www.mightycause.com/event/2025tiowio.

What happens if it rains or the weather is bad?

Talk It Out, Walk It Out will happen rain or shine! We have plans in place to move key parts of the event indoors if needed, thanks to our partnership with The Wright Museum. Your safety and comfort are important to us, and we’re prepared to make sure the experience is meaningful no matter what.
