About this event
What? The 10th annual Pittsburgh Recovery Walk will include speakers, a giant Resource Fair, the Pittsburgh Recovery Awards, kids' activities, food trucks, music, and a parade through Downtown Pittsburgh.
When? The Pittsburgh Recovery Walk will take place on Saturday September 13, 2025 from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm. Streets will close at 11:00 am and the walk will begin at 11:30 am.
Who? The Pittsburgh Recovery Walk is free and open to the public. Everyone whose life has been touched by addiction or recovery is invited to join our celebration.
Where? The Pittsburgh Recovery Walk will be held outside at 1201 Waterfront Place (just north of Smallman St. in the Strip District). The walk will proceed down Penn Avenue to 7th Street, right on Fort Duquesne Blvd. to 9th Street, and back on Penn Avenue to 11th and Waterfront.
Why? The purpose of the Pittsburgh Recovery Walk is to celebrate the many roads to recovery from addiction and all those who travel them. Specifically, the walk aims to 1) celebrate recovery and recovery supports, 2) eliminate stigma, and 3) showcase resources for recovery support, health, and harm reduction in our region.

Check out our collection of PRW merchandise at the PRW Shop! We have water bottles, mugs, adult and kids t-shirts, and more. Order early to have them in time to show your spirit at the Walk! Of course, regular adult t-shirts will always be free at the Walk.

I hereby certify that I am in good condition and am able to walk/participate in this event. Additionally, I will permit the use of my picture in broadcast, print, and other media. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to this waiver on your behalf. An adult must accompany children under 8 years of age.

The entire event is completely free.
Free t-shirts will be distributed at the registration tent at 1201 Waterfront Place. Come early to make sure you get one before they run out!
Advance registration for the September 13 Recovery Walk is not required, but it is encouraged. Register to stay up to date on the day’s events, help us estimate how many t-shirts to bring, and learn about volunteer and outreach opportunities.
Registration is not mandatory! Feel free to join us downtown on September 13, even if you prefer not to register. We appreciate registrants because it helps us anticipate the size of the event. But it's not required.
You can register up to 50 attendees under one registration and have the option to include each person's name and email address.
YES! Thank you for your support - this event is funded solely by donations. When you register, you can make an optional donation. You can than choose if you would like to donate in support of or in memory of someone. You can also make a donation by visiting pghrecoverywalk.org/donate.

Carpool and public transportation are encouraged. Downtown parking lots and metered street parking will be available.
Yes, the event location and route are handicap accessible.
Yes, there will be an ASL interpreter for the stage program.
Children and friendly dogs who are ok with other dogs and big crowds are more than welcome. Bring some pocket money to buy lunch from various food trucks. (Water and coffee will be available to participants at no cost.) And please bring your friends and family!
