The mission of the Ms. Blind Diva Empowerment Pageant is to empower women with vision loss by providing tools to cultivate and encourage their daily life experiences. Our vision is to celebrate the achievements of women of diverse backgrounds who happen to be vision-impaired or blind to live their best lives.
The Ms. Blind Diva Empowerment pageant made its debut in February 2017. It began with a nomination process on the first anniversary of the charitable 501(C3) nonprofit organization Eyes Like Mine Inc. This nomination led to the birth of the pageant in Newark, New Jersey. As a result, the pageant is recognized in the city of Newark as the first pageant developed and executed for the empowerment of women vision impaired, blind, and deaf blind . Eyes Like Mine Inc. is a nonprofit, 501C3 public charity based in Northern New Jersey. Our mission is to share awareness about the abilities and potential of individuals with vision loss through community service initiatives, comprehensive empowerment workshops, and innovative social change awareness events. This pageant is a safe zone for the women participants to express themselves, be themselves, and celebrate themselves! The pageant will remain an annual production to continue to touch the lives of all women who strive to live their best lives!
Ms. Blind Diva Empowerment Pageant offers skill-building opportunities in a series of educational “empower hour” seminars which include:
• An Introduction to adaptive technology;
• Life Empowerment techniques;
• Social building skills;
• A Celebration of Independent women
The Ms. Blind Diva empowerment pageant recruits candidates by touring various cities and states while hosting several empowering events throughout the year, networking and bringing awareness about the blind community.
