2025 MDTA Public Service Project
Come join us for the 2025 MDTA Public Service Project at Kengla House across the street from Meadowside Nature Center at Rock Creek Regional Park! This hands-on event will give you the opportunity to make a positive impact on the community while enjoying the beauty of nature. Whether you're a seasoned volunteer or new to public service, there's a role for everyone!
Details:
- All volunteers must sign a waiver to participate.
- Minimum age to volunteer is 14.
- Student Service Learning (SSL) hours available for Middle- and High-School students.
- A brief safety meeting will be held before starting the event.
Parking:
- Map will be provided via email to those who register.
- Limited parking available at Kengla House.
- Overflow parking available across street at Meadowside Nature Center.
Volunteers will assist with:
- Trail maintenance and improvements,
- Technical trail feature installation,
- Vegetation management, and
- Pedestrian bridge entrance upgrades.
Please remember!:
- This event will be held rain or shine, so please dress appropriately 👚
- If the weather is predicted to be or becomes unsuitable for the event, this event page will be updated ☔
- Closed-toe shoes are required to participate in event activities 👟
- There is shade, but please bring plenty of water to stay hydrated 💧
