Join us for the Third Annual “Hope in the Hills” ride through the beautiful Black Hills fall foliage aboard the historical 1880 Hill City Central Railroad sponsored by the non-profit Black Hills Road Trip of Hope (BHRTOH). Your purchase of tickets will assist many brave Breast Cancer Warriors.

This year’s trip will again feature four delicious tastings by From Scratch Catering, accompanied with unique tastes of wine – each specifically chosen to highlight one of the delectable hors d’oeuvre.

Included will again be the talented Seraphim Theatrical Entertainment interpretation of an old favorite movie, this one titled “3:10 to Hill City” in what continues to be a highlight of each trip through the historic Black Hills.

Plenty of vendors will be available to learn about advancements in the medical field, prevention, and curative and educational information. A silent auction will also be available, as well as other surprise offerings.

Games, photo opportunities, a lot of music and opportunities to mingle and network while purchasing wine and beer by the glass. This year a Food Truck (insert name) will be available while you are enjoying the many chances to visit and network while you decide which of the many silent auction items that need to go home with you. There will be unique BHRTOH merchandise for sale, as well.

Frequently asked questions

What happens if it snows?

In the event of inclement weather that would impede safe travel on the train the even will be held on the train in the standstill position.

What should I wear?

We hope for beautiful fall weather, but if it is cooler a sweater or a jacket is encouraged. Would your group like to wear costumes? By all means, have fun with it. The theme is OLD WESTERN so western wear is always in style.

What time should I be at the Station?

If you would like to partake in the booths, silent auction, get your tickets early and have a chance to buy a preliminary glass of wine, noon would be a good time to come. Also, a great time to assure you have a parking spot.

Can I get a refund if necessary?

This will be handled by BHRTOH administration on a case by case situation. Feel free to find someone to sell/give your ticket to, or donate the funds back to BHRTOH. BHRTOH has to pay for a full train, so it's vital we get it as filled as possible.

Will there be food at the event?

On the train there will be four "bites" or hors d'oeuvres with four matching "tastes" of wine that are provided. If you'd like more food, please feel free to come early and visit one of the many great restaurants located in Hill City, SD.

We are a local breast cancer non-profit. Established in 2021, we are an all-volunteer non-profit 501c3 organization made up of local board members and advisors.

As Warriors, healthcare professionals, caregivers, friends and family members, all of us have been touched by breast cancer in profound ways.
