Hoke County 4-H is happy to announce our summer programs for 2025. We invite you to join us for a fun and exciting summer of learning. The summer program has activities for all youth between the ages of 5 and 18. Membership in 4-H is not required, however 4-H members will receive the first opportunity to sign up for programs. We hope after you have enjoyed our summer program you will want to become a member.

Our camps will be held in various locations in Hoke County, the location is listed in each camp description. Please register your child not the parent. Fees cover all supplies and curriculum for the camps.

Accommodation requests related to a disability should be made when you register your child, by calling Cathy James at the 4-H office at (910)848-8023.

4-H Enrollment

To register, sign up and pay through Eventbrite. Registration will be handled on a first come, first served basis, and will only be accepted upon receipt of payment. Telephone, electronic, faxed or mailed will not be accepted. Registration will continue until camps are filled or 2 weeks prior to the start date to make sure we have time to purchase supplies. All ages for registration are based on the child's 4-H age which is how old they are on January 1, 2025. Please contact Cathy James at 910-848-8023 with any questions.

We ask once you register, complete 4-H Online enrollment at: v2.4honline.com

You will need to set-up a family profile, then add each child in as a 4-H member. All questions and waivers will need to be completed to complete the enrollment for us to approve the enrollment. We need to know your child's allergies while in our custody.

Policies

  • All fees are nonrefundable unless a camp is filled to capacity or cancelled. Necessary refunds will be made appropriately.
  • Punctuality of all participants is expected, particularly on days we're traveling away from the office. Youth must be picked up at the time the program ends.
  • Although many of our experiences seem like great family activities, family member not registered for the program cannot travel or tour with us due to liability issues.
  • If a camp is full, you can add your name to the waiting list, and we will contact you prior to the camp if a space becomes available.


1 ) REV up your Engines! - June 9 | 9am-12pm | Ages: 9-Up | Cost: $15 | Limit: 12 | Join us as we dive into the world of racing legends and their iconic cars! Discover what it takes to build a winning car, driver, and team. Then, put your creativity to the test as you design your own race car to take home. Location: NC Cooperative Extension, 645 E Palmer St, Raeford


2) Camp Cook & Play - June 10, 11 & 12 | 9am-12pm| Ages: 9-up | Cost: $20 | Limit: 12 | Join Ms. T for a fun and engaging session focused on building lifelong healthy eating habits and energizing exercises. Youth will not only improve their own wellness but also be empowered to inspire others around them to lead healthier lives! Location: NC Cooperative Extension, 645 E Palmer St, Raeford


3) Etiquette Mini Camp - June 16 | 9am-4pm | Ages: 9-up | Cost: $40 | Limit: 10 | Ever sit down and not know which glass is yours? Wonder what fork to use when? Not sure how long is too long to shake someone's hand or how to write a thank you note? This mini-camp will cover all those questions and more. Youth will come dressed to impressed and will have a hands on lunch experience at the elegant dinning room at the Carolina Hotel in Pinehurst. Cost includes lunches, two snacks, supplies, and field trip transportation. Location: NC Cooperative Extension, 645 E Palmer St, Raeford


4 ) Friday Spin Camp - all 6 sessions for one price! - June 20 - August 1 (does not include July 4 week)| 9am-12pm | Ages: 8-up | Cost: $65 | Limit: 12 | Each Friday from June 20 to August 1, participants will dive into exciting hands-on activities including shooting sports, rocketry, cooking, dancing, crafting, hula-hooping, and so much more! These camps are led by dedicated 4-H club volunteer leaders who bring energy and expertise to every session. After a summer of fun and learning, youth may even be inspired to join a 4-H club and continue the adventure year-round! Location: NC Cooperative Extension, 645 East Palmer St, Raeford

  • June 20 - Cooking with Brianna - Join Brianna, leader of the Pot Shakers Club, to have a blast learning essential knife skills, kitchen safety, and how to cook delicious, beginner-friendly recipes that you can make at home!
  • June 27 - Crafting for Juniors - Volunteers will provide an enjoyable day of making fun, hands-on crafts—and get to take their unique creations home to share and display!
  • July 11 - Dance with Joy! - Get ready to move and groove with Joy, a talented member of the Homeschool Rockets 4-H Club! Joy will share her passion for dance and teach fun, energetic routines to youth of all skill levels. She has competed statewide and is now excited to inspire others through the joy of dance—while putting the 4 H’s into motion: using her Head for choreography, Heart for passion, Hands for practice, and Health for an active lifestyle!
  • July 18 - Shooting Sports with Mike - Join Mike, leader of the Hot Shots Shooting Sports Club, at the range for an important and hands-on session on firearm safety. Youth will learn the fundamentals of safe handling and responsible use. A parent or guardian is required to stay for the duration of the session.
  • July 25 - Rocketry with Chris - Chris, leader of the Lucky Leaders Cloverbud Club, will guide youth through the exciting process of building their very own rockets! After construction, participants will compete in a fun rocket launch competition. Each child will get to take their rocket home at the end of the day.
  • August 1 - Hula Hooping with Shirley! - Join Shirley, leader of the Southside Club, for a creative and active session where you’ll learn how to make your very own hula hoop. After crafting, jump into a fun competition to show off your skills! Each participant will get to take their custom-made hula hoop home.


5) Raeford Crawl - June 20 | 10am-2pm | Ages: 5-up | Free | Limit: 12 | We’ll kick things off at McLauchlin Park, then take a fun stroll down Main Street with stops along the way for short programs at the Library, Police Department, Court House, and Home Food. We'll wrap up the day with a tasty snack at Silverback Fitness! Location: McLauchlin Park, corner of Donaldson Ave & Stewart St, Raeford (Look for the 4-H sign)


6) Creepy Crawlies Bug Camp for Cloverbuds - June 24 | 9am-12pm | Ages: 5-8 | Cost: $12 | Limit: 12 | Join Samantha for a fun-filled adventure as we hunt for bugs and discover the amazing world of these tiny creatures! Participants will also get to create a bug-themed make-and-take craft to bring home and share. Location: NC Cooperative Extension, 645 East Palmer St, Raeford


7) Robotics FUNdamentals - June 26 | 9am-2pm | Ages: 10-up | Cost: $75 | Limit: 12 | Youth will learn how to code a variety of robots using math, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. They’ll put their knowledge to the test in a fun, friendly competition designed to challenge and excite! Location: NC Cooperative Extension, 645 E Palmer St, Raeford


8) Rocketry for Cloverbuds - June 30 | 9am-12pm | Ages: 5-8 | Cost: $16 | Limit: 12 | Participants will design and build their own rockets, then blast off in a fun and exciting launching contest to see whose rocket soars the highest! Location: Williamson Farm, 1275 South Bethel Road, Raeford (look for the 4-H sign)


9) Animal Science Camp - July 7-11 | 8am-5pm | Ages: 10-up | Cost: $125 | Limit: 10 | Have a child that loves animals? Maybe they are even thinking of being a veternarian. This camp will allow them to meet all types of animals from the farm to the woods and even the sea. We will talk animal care, careers, and see about a couple of projects that will help them make a difference for animals in our community. Fee covers lunch, snacks, drinks, supplies, and field trips. We'll travel to partner with Robeson County 4-H. Location: NC Cooperative Extension, 645 E Palmer St, Raeford (We will leave from the office promptly at 8am each day)


10) Navigate with Confidence for Cloverbuds - July 14 - 15 | Monday 9am-12pm, Tuesday 9am-1:00pm | Ages: 5-7 | Cost: $17 | Limit: 12 | Day 1: Participants will continue building their outdoor skills with fun, hands-on activities. They'll learn how to navigate using maps on their cell phones, practice building a fire, and explore other essential survival techniques. Day 2: We’ll kick things off with a team challenge, and for lunch, participants will cook their own cowboy hamburgers over an open flame—just like on the trail! Bring: Youth are encouraged to bring their cell phones for the navigation activity; those without a phone will be partnered with someone who has one. Location: Glenhurst Farm, 2000 Laurinburg Hwy, Raeeford (look for the 4-H sign on Hwy 401 South)

12) Easy Bites for Cloverbuds - July 16 | 9am-12pm | Ages: 5-8 | Cost: $15 | Limit: 12 | Youth will have a blast in the kitchen as they make fun, healthy recipes—and take home their tasty creations to share with family! Location: NC Cooperative Extension, 645 E Palmer Rd, Raeford


13) Money Camp for Cloverbuds - July 22 | 9am-12pm | Ages: 5-8 | Cost: $12 | Limit: 12|
Participants will explore the difference between wants and needs through interactive games and hands-on activities that make learning both fun and memorable. Location: Williamson Farm, 1275 South Bethel Rd, Raeford


14) Let's Explore the Forest Floor for Cloverbuds - July 29 | 9am-12pm | Ages: 5-8 | Cost: $12 | Limit: 12 | Join us for a walk in the woods while we talk about decomposers, food webs, mosses, fungi and the plants and animals you can find right in your own backyard. We will gather a few items and then build our own versions of the ecosystem in a small terrarium for each to take home. Location: NC Cooperative Extension, 645 East Palmer St, Raeford

16) It's Electric with Mike! - August 1 | 9am-12pm | Ages: 9-up | Cost: $15 | Limit: 12 | Participants will have fun learning how to solder as they build their very own 4-H electric kit to use at home! Location: NC Cooperative Extension, 645 East Palmer St, Raeford


17) Cooking with Juniors - August 6 | 9am-12pm | Ages: 10-up | Cost: $15 | Limit: 8 | Get ready to slice, stir, and snack! In this fun and hands-on class, juniors will learn essential kitchen safety and beginner knife skills. They'll also discover how to make easy, affordable, and healthy snacks they can recreate at home. Location: NC Cooperative Extension, 645 East Palmer St, Raeford


18) BioTech Day Camp - August 4-8 |8am-5pm | Ages: 9-14 | $125 | Limit: 10 | Biotech Day Camp is a fun way to be imersed in all things science. Each day we take a new field trip to experience a different type of science; animal science, chemistry, natural sciences, life science, etc. Youth have the opportunity to visit and explore the fun world of science and learn about different careers in this field. The cost covers all lunch, snacks, and field trip admissions. Location: 4-H Office, 645 East Palmer St, Raeford. (We will leave promptly at 8am each day and arrive back by 5pm)
