A color run is a fun, non-competitive 5K where participants are doused with colorful powder at various points along the route. It's all about fun, fitness, and supporting a good cause — no timing chips or pressure!

❓Will I be hit with color during the run?

Accepted Answer

? Only if you want to! If you'd prefer not to be covered in color, simply hold your hands up in an "X" as you approach the color stations. Our Kappa Delta volunteers will respect your choice and won’t throw color at you. Your comfort comes first!

❓Am I guaranteed an event t-shirt with registration?

? Only if you register by Wednesday, October 8 at midnight!
Participants who register on or before October 8 are guaranteed an official Color Me Kaydee 5K t-shirt. Registrations after this deadline will receive a t-shirt only while supplies last — so sign up early to secure yours!

❓Can I bring a stroller?

Accepted Answer

Yes! Strollers are absolutely welcome. We just recommend covering your stroller or little one with a light sheet or towel if you want to keep them color-free.

❓Are pets welcome?

Accepted Answer

Yes, leashed pets are welcome! We love furry friends — just make sure they’re comfortable around crowds and color. Bring water and waste bags to keep them safe and hydrated!

❓What should I wear?

Accepted Answer

We recommend wearing white or light-colored clothing so the color powder shows up vibrantly. Many people wear sunglasses and bandanas to protect their eyes and mouth (optional, but helpful!).

❓Is the color powder safe?

Accepted Answer

Yes! The color powder is made from non-toxic, food-grade cornstarch. It’s safe for skin and clothing, though we suggest leaving your favorite outfit at home — things will get messy!

❓Will the color come out of my clothes and hair?

Accepted Answer

Usually, yes — but we recommend rinsing off the color as soon as possible. Wearing old clothes and using a towel to cover your car seat afterward is a smart move. Hair can hold color longer if it’s light or porous, so oiling your hair beforehand can help!

❓Can kids participate?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely! This is a family-friendly event and kids love it. Children under 10 can participate for free.

❓Where do I park?

There is free parking available in the AAC parking lot, located right next to the Academic Athletic Center (MSU Basketball Arena).

❓What happens if it rains?

Accepted Answer

A little rain won't stop the fun! The event will go on rain or shine unless conditions are dangerous. Any weather-related updates will be posted on our official event page and social media.

Question 12

❓Do I have to run the whole 5K?

Accepted Answer

Not at all! You can walk, jog, dance, or skip your way through. All paces and fitness levels are welcome — this is about participation, not speed!
