American Women for International Understanding (AWIU) is hosting its Ninth Annual Career Opportunities in International Relations (COIR) Symposium on Friday, November 7, 2025. The symposium will be held on the 5th Floor of the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library in Washington, D.C.

The theme of this year's symposium, Women Building Bridges: Career Paths Amid Global Challenges, will be explored through presentations, panels, and discussion groups. COIR is co-chaired by Ambassador (ret) Eunice Reddick, and this year will include such eminent speakers as Ambassador (ret) Swanee Hunt.

This day-long event will feature an array of speakers, panels, breakout discussions, a complimentary lunch, and ample networking opportunities with prominent women diplomats, career professionals, international organization experts, and representatives from non-profits focused on pressing global issues.

Since 1968, AWIU has connected U.S. women leaders to their counterparts worldwide to foster understanding, advance human rights, and strengthen communities through partnerships, mentorship, and microgrants.
