The Federal Bar Association Chicago Chapter’s 2025 Annual Ethics Program will take place on Thursday, June 5, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM at Kirkland & Ellis LLP, located at 333 W Wolf Point Plaza, Chicago, IL 60654. Designed for legal professionals seeking to strengthen their understanding of ethical practice, this in-person event offers a comprehensive agenda covering core areas of professional responsibility. Remote attendance via Zoom will also be available.

The 2025 program will feature two presentations and a judicial panel discussion. Neil B. Posner, Principal at Much Shelist, and Timothy Schank, Senior Loss Prevention Counsel at ALAS, will present on topics including lawyer well-being and ethical considerations in negotiations and settlements. The event concludes with a panel titled “How to Avoid Ethical Pitfalls in Federal Court,” featuring Hon. Rebecca Pallmeyer, Hon. Lindsay Jenkins, and Hon. Laura McNally, all federal judges in the Northern District of Illinois. Cameron Ginde, Partner at Kirkland & Ellis, will serve as moderator for the panel.

The agenda is as follows:

1:00 – 2:00 PM: The Personal and Professional Case for Lawyer Well-Being
2:15 – 3:15 PM: Ethics in Negotiations & Settlement
3:30 – 4:30 PM: Panel Discussion on Avoiding Ethical Pitfalls in Federal Court

Up to 3 hours of CLE credit in professional responsibility and mental health are available, pending approval. This CLE is offered complimentary to our FBA members and is one of the benefits of membership. The $25 fee for non-members covers the cost of advertising, CLE, and other administrative costs of the event. Pre-registration is required, and all in-person attendees must present a valid photo ID upon entry due to building security protocols.
