United Way of Greater St. Louis is seeking proposals that address key issues and gaps affecting the overall well-being and safety of the communities we serve.

Please join us for an informational webinar on September 9th to learn more about this year's Targeted Fund cycle including areas of focus, range for grant awards and grant review criteria.

This year, the Targeted Fund aims to support effective initiatives and trauma informed approaches that help reduce violence and address related behavioral health needs. Priority will be given to emergent and innovative solutions aligned to focus areas, with an emphasis on systemic factors that impact community safety. Priority areas can include approaches to drive down socioeconomic disparities, youth development programs, and mental health supports.

The Targeted Fund provides funding to support nonprofits that use emergent or innovative approaches to address timely challenges facing neighbors across the region. A description of both funding category types is listed below:

An emergent approach addresses an identified community need using a promising practice or adapted method that is in development or early stages of implementation.
An innovative approach addresses an identified community need using a new method, model or practice that is designed to advance service delivery for maximum impact to clients served.

Targeted Fund awards are considered one-time grants with a one-year timeframe for United Way investment. Proposed programs should have existing sources of funding where United Way’s investment is leveraged to ensure sustainability beyond the Targeted Fund one-year grant time frame.

September 13th: Virtual Office Hours
September 20th: Virtual Office Hours
September 27th: Application Deadline
December 16th: Award announced
