WELCOME!

SDEA members (certified, classified, higher education, and aspiring educators) are invited to make plans to attend a two-day event on the Augustana University campus. We are proud to feature a keynote from Kim Campbell a dynamic middle school educator from Minnesota.

Breakout sessions have selections for a variety of professional development, leadership development, advocacy, and organizing. Sessions can be combined for graduate credit.

This summer academy is free and open to members only. We encourage your local to bring a team to take advantage of information in all sessions.

Mileage

SDEA will reimburse mileage for one driver of a local team in attendance. If your team is large enough a second vehicle will be reimbursed. If you're close enough to warrant commuting each day rather than an overnight stay, we will reimburse for mileage accordingly.

Lodging

SDEA will cover hotel for double occupancy at the Holiday Inn Downtown or Holiday Inn Express at Empire Mall for Sunday, July 16th and Monday, July 17th. DO NOT CALL the hotels to make a reservation. SDEA will assign rooms and have them direct-billed. If you wish to indicate a roommate preference, you may do so in this registration.

If you wish to have a single occupancy room, you may make that request in this registration. A single room will cost you $70 per night.

Meals

Breakfast is available each morning at the hotel, but with a significant number of commuters, SDEA will provide breakfast each morning at Augustana. Lunch and snacks are provided each day as well. Attendees will be on their own for dinner each evening.

Pre-Conference for Graduate Credit

Attendees who participate in the pre-conference (True Colors) on Sunday, July 16th from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm and all sessions during the conference, will earn enough hours for one graduate credit. You will need to sign in at each of the sessions you attend to receive the credit. One grad credit costs $50. Information for registering for the credit will be available at the conference.

Member Organizer Training

If you are currently a Member Organizer, make sure to select the add-on ticket during registration for training that will occur on Sunday, July 16th from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
