About this event

2021 Flip Flop Regatta and Party on the Pier image

For sailors, non-sailors, and anyone who loves a great time with an unbeatable view accompanied by music, dancing, food, and drinks! We cannot wait to bring back our yearly tradition of kicking back our heels (or flip flops!) and having a blast under the Big Tent, while we celebrate the regatta competitors, hand out awards, and just enjoy being out on the harbor.

We are thrilled to announce that DJ Ryan Brown and Soul of Boston will be providing the night's music, so don't forget to wear your dancing shoes!

Tickets purchased through Eventbrite include two drink tickets and access to all of the fun under the tent. If you are a regatta participant, please be sure to find more information about the race and registration here. The party will be in full swing from 6:00-10:30 PM on Pier 4. Delicious barbecue dinners can be purchased for an additional fee--buy them fast before we sell out!

Proceeds support our mission to transform children’s lives through sailing programs that inspire learning, personal growth, and leadership.

Organizer Courageous Sailing

Organizer of 2021 Flip Flop Regatta and Party on the Pier

Courageous Sailing is a nonprofit community sailing and youth development organization committed to providing people of all ages with opportunities to learn, experience new things, and enjoy Boston Harbor. For adults and teams, Courageous makes it easy and affordable to learn to sail and access the harbor. Revenue from all Courageous events and sailing programs makes it possible to support children from low-income and marginalized backgrounds: 65% of children who participate in Courageous summer programs receive a full or partical scholarship.

Courageous youth programs use sailing, swimming, and related STEM education as platforms for social-emotional growth and out-of-school time learning. We are committed to making sailing accessible to all and removing barriers that have traditionally prevented marginalized youth from participating in our programs. As our students master sailing skills, they also build self-confidence, resilience, critical thinking, teamwork, and knowledge and appreciation of the natural world—skills necessary for success on the water, in school, and in the workplace. At Courageous, we believe that learning to navigate through the obstacles of busy Boston Harbor helps youth learn to navigate through and overcome life’s challenges. In the words of our founder, “Every child’s perspective is improved 50 yards offshore.”
