2020 Science Events Summit
Event Information
Description
The 2020 Science Events Summit is cancelled.
As much as it hurts to cancel, it is not practical to postpone and it doesn't seem appropriate to try to replace what was originally planned for Atlanta with a frenzy of online activity.
But while we will not be "virtualizing" the 2020 Summit, there are still so many reasons to get together. Wouldn't you like to touch base with your live event friends right now?
Well, there are some upcoming meetings being planned in the lead up to June 1 to give you that chance to reconnect, look at what we've learned over the past couple months, and consider what's ahead.
The 2020 Science Events Summit brings practitioners, researchers, and enthusiasts together to discuss the public science events sector.
Registration for the 2020 Summit includes:
- a public event planned for Sunday evening, May 31;
- coffee, lunch, and conference sessions on June 1 – 2; and
- the conference dinner on June 1.
The 2020 Science Events Summit's main conference will meet at the Carter Center in Atlanta, GA. A block of rooms at a nearby hotel is being arranged, and will be announced to everyone registering. The Summit is organized by the Science Festival Alliance. More information about the Summit and it’s past iterations (previously the International Public Science Events Conference, IPSEC) can be found here.
Before registering, please read the Summit Code of Conduct:
The Summit is dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone.
We do not tolerate harassment in any form, whether during Summit conference sessions or off-site after-hours gatherings. Discriminatory language and imagery is not appropriate for any Summit venue, including talks, workshops, parties, Twitter and other online media.
Summit participants violating this code of conduct may be sanctioned or expelled from the Summit without a refund at the discretion of the Summit organizers.
