Be prepared for the latest code requirements for solar photovoltaic installations! Our virtual course covers the 2020 National Electrical Code, as well as the 2020 Massachusetts Electrical Code requirements.
We will discuss key code changes for sections pertaining to PV installations, including Articles 690 and 705, as well as services in Article 230, grounding and bonding in Article 250, and wiring methods in chapter 3. During the course, there will also be an in-depth analysis of Section 690.47 Grounding Electrode System Requirements, Solar Labeling Requirements, Rapid Shutdown and Article 705 Interconnection Requirements and Calculations. We will review quality assurance best-practices with an accompanying case study. The course will conclude with a review of Chapter 11 of NFPA 1: Fire Code, as it relates to solar PV installations.
This course is registered for NABCEP Continuing Education Credit.
About Matt Piantedosi:
Matt has been active in the electrical industry for two decades, in all aspects from plan review, installation, electrical inspections, and commissioning. He has an electrical engineering degree and currently holds electrical licenses in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire. He has trained thousands of industry professionals on solar PV electrical code compliance, best installation practices, and also hundreds of first responders on solar PV fire safety. He is an Executive Board Member of the International Association of Electrical Inspectors (IAEI) Paul Revere Chapter in Boston.
