You're invited to join City Club of Tacoma as we discuss the 2020 Census.

Panelists:

  • Bernal Baca, Executive Director Centro Latino

  • Lorraine Ralston, U.S. Census Bureau

  • Julie Anderson, Pierce County Auditor

Bernal Baca and Lorraine Ralstonwill discuss Census operations and how special populations (nursing homes, homeless, children, detention center, children etc.) are counted, as well as the challenges of counting people, especially immigrants, migrants and refugees. Julie Anderson will talk about civic engagement and how Census outreach is intertwined with voter outreach and how these activities have similar challenges in 2020 (misinformation, skepticism, and hard-to-reach populations).
