About this Event

The Red Talk speaker this year will be Judge Kashoua Kristy Yang! She is the first female Hmong judge elected in the United States, and the first in Wisconsin. Judge Yang was born in a refugee camp in Thailand after the Vietnam War, and now that she is a judge she is working to make sure everyone trusts and understands the legal system. Before she was a judge, she was a family law mediator and was recognized for her pro bono work. We are so excited to have Judge Yang represent UW-Madison and and hear her story.
