Event description

Description

The Global Trade and Innovation Policy Alliance (GTIPA) represents a global network of 24 world-class, independent, like-minded think tanks from throughout the world which share a common vision that trade, globalization, and innovation—supported by governments on market-based terms—can produce tremendous benefits for the world’s citizens.

Each year, GTIPA members come together for an Annual Summit whose objective is to facilitate serious discussion in exploration of creative solutions to the difficult economic, trade, and innovation challenges faced by the international community. In addition to GTIPA think tank members, the Summit attracts world-leading subject matter experts on trade and innovation policy issues including leaders from business, government, academic, and policymaking communities across Europe and the world.

The 2018 GTIPA summit will feature sessions focused on:

1) Emerging Disruptive Technologies and Their Impact on Firms, Employment, and the Economy;

2) A Comparative Global Innovation Policies panel that examines countries’ innovation strategies and looks at new strategies recently released in countries such as Canada, China, Germany, India, Sweden, and beyond;

3) How 5G Spectrum Has Become A Platform for Digital Innovation in Europe and Worldwide;

4) The Convergence of ICTs and Biotechnology in Life-Sciences Innovation which will examine how information technologies are increasingly faciliating breakthrough life-sciences innovations.

An open networking reception will follow from 5-7pm. The event is free of charge, but registration is required.

We hope you can join this group of world-leading thinkers as they discuss and chart new approaches toward trade, innovation, and globalization for the benefit of the international community and economy. If you have any questions, please contact Stephen Ezell, Vice President, Global Innovation Policy, Information Technology and Innovation Foundation, at sezell@itif.org.
