Event Details

Reflect and Serve: Designing for Social and Emotional Learning

This two-day event combines professional development activities and public presentations with intensive group sessions and idea exchanges on social and emotional learning. With an emphasis on the interests of the participating groups, on intensive collaborative work, and on concrete outputs, the 2018 EMU Bright Futures Ideas to Action iiE Gathering event draws upon event frameworks such as “unconferences,” BarCamp, and Startup Weekend. This event will bring together a diverse and international mix of students, educators, practitioners, researchers, developers, partner organizations, and others.

Reflect and Serve - Designing for Social and Emotional Learning: Hands-on Workshop
Learn and practice key principles of design thinking while working on an idea or project useful to you. The iiE Team will lead sessions on using design thinking that allow you to explore and use our Design Mindset CARDS to inform your work. Come with your team, help another team brainstorm and plan, or form a new team with other participants! 

Friday, June 29th
Reflect and Serve - Designing for Social and Emotional Learning
A full day experience led by the EMU Bright Futures team featuring a keynote story slam, professional development workshops, youth panel, and unconference sessions. A great chance to find out about emerging innovative ideas and practices and meet potential collaborators and fellow-travellers.
