Do you remember moving into your first home? It’s exciting, overwhelming and doesn’t take long to realize you need so much stuff. That’s what many working parents are going through in our community as they move into new homes.

This summer, United Way will provide 300 “Welcome Home” baskets to families in Greater Cincinnati who are engaged in services to change their lives.

We sat down with many of these families to talk through the perfect items to include in a "Welcome Home" basket. Together, we created a great list to help families make their house a home. Some will even be at the event in person to share their stories.

How to Help

Volunteer | To bring this to life, we're asking for help assembling the baskets, and a $10 donation per volunteer to offset some of the cost of the project.
Donate Items | Individuals and organizations can also help us collect additional items for the baskets.

Together, we’ll do more for these families than any of us could do alone.

About your impact

The “Welcome Home” baskets will benefit families who are taking part in United Way’s STEPS program and Every Child Succeeds.

STEPS (Supporting Transitions to Employment for Parents) is a two-generational project which helps women complete a workforce development program to begin their professional journey in an in-demand industry, and ensure that children are off to a successful educational start in a high-quality early education program.

Every Child Succeeds provides an optimal start for children by promoting positive parenting and healthy child development during the important first 1,000 days of life.

United Way and its agency partners have committed to serving families more holistically by making sure that needs and aspirations of both children and adults are met & nurtured at the same time!
