Keep Bastrop County Beautiful is hosting the 5th Bastrop River Rally April 22nd to coincide with Earth Day and the weekend's Nature Fest.

KBCB is partnering with Bastrop River Company, Rising Phoenix and LCRA to provide kayaks, paddles and life jackets to clean-up the El Camino Paddle Trail.

KBCB is very excited to announce that the Bastrop River Rally (BRR) is partnering wit the City of Bastrop and expanding to a two-day event and moving to April 21 and 22, for Earth Day in 2018! Saturday will include a 1k and 5k River Rally Run, lots of fun, free activities for the kids, food and music. The Colorado River clean up will be on Sunday morning, so folks participating in the clean-up can enjoy the events on Saturday.

The Bastrop River Rally, our mother event, will be hosted on an annual basis and will include various sub-events that support our community and natural resources. This year’s sub-events will include:

The River Cleanup on Sunday


Paddle a boat down the El Camino Trail of the Colorado River and pick up some trash along the way. A $100 value excursion for the gracious commitment fee of only $10! Can’t be beat! Not only are you getting the chance to impact your local environment by cleaning up the river, you are getting to explore nature at a fraction of the cost. This donation goes right back into Bastrop County in the form of trash clean-ups, recycling information, environmental scholarships and educational workshops throughout the year! We thank you for doing your part to Keep Bastrop County Beautiful!

Nature Fest on Saturday

Check out his free event with our many Environmenatl display programs. Fishing training, camping displays, archery and other outdoor activities. View and learn about the local animals, flora and fauna. Booths will also be offering games for families, spectators and volunteers. We hope to attract more than 700 participants for this new event. The YMCA will be doing a duck drop for cash prizes! Other exhibitors will be present to provide information that will heighten awareness of our hike and bike tails, future projects and activities to promote the environmental stewardship of Bastrop County and the use of the river. Bastrop River Rally Run on Saturday

The 5k & 1k runs will start and end at Fisherman’s Park. Participants may opt to run or walk in a formal, timed trail run 5k or un-timed fun run 1k. The new exciting option is to create a tutu or hat from recycled materials to win prizes in the 1k race!

  • River Run 5k: Support KBCB and Friends of the Lost Pines by Running or Walking for the cause in this 5k
    ​timed​ Run starting and ending in Fisherman’s Park
    ​ The cost is $35.​
    ​A t-shirt will be given to all entries and first, second and third place awards will be given in 6 age male/female categories. A portion of the proceeds will go to Friends Of The Lost Pines to support Bastrop State Park and the rest will be used for clean ups, environmental scholarships and beauti​​fication projects in the Bastrop area. ​
  • River Run 1k:Support KBCB and Friends of the Lost Pines by Running or Walking for the cause in this 5k
    ​timed​ Run starting and ending in Fisherman’s Park
    ​The cost is $10. ​
    A t-shirt will be given to all runners and first, second and third place medals will be awarded with no age or male/femal categories. Support awareness of recycling by doing a fun un-timed walk or run​ and create a tutu or hat made from recycle materials to win prizes.

The KBCB River Rally will be held this year on Sunday, April 22, 2018. Detailed schedule below:

River Clean-up

  • 8:00 – 9:00 Registration and Launch Kayakers at Fisherman’s Park
  • 9:30 – 1:00 on water El Camino Trail
  • 10:30 – 1:00 Collect and weight trash at the Colorado River Refuge and return to LCRA/Fisherman’s Park.
