Event description

Description

The Georgia Tech Manufacturing Institute (GTMI) is hosting its 5th Annual Distinguished Lecture in partnership with the Petit Institute for Bioengineering and Biosciences on Thursday, October 12 at 11 a.m. This year's distinguished lecturer is Dean Kamen, an inventor, entrepreneur, and a tireless advocate for science and technology. His roles as inventor and advocate are intertwined—his own passion for technology and its practical uses has driven his personal determination to spread the word about technology's virtues and by so doing to change the culture of the United States.

His presentation is titled, "
Navigating the Manufacturing Process and Assuring the Quality of Regenerative Medicine Therapies," and will focus on redefining manufacturing for the future and leveraging the world of manufacturing to achieve high volume, affordable solutions for regenerative manufacturing.

Kamen's lecture will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the Georgia Tech Clough Commons. There will be a lunch immediately following at the GTMI atrium. GTMI is located at 813 Ferst Drive, NW, Atlanta, GA 30332.
