Have you wanted to try making Riso prints? Or do you have something you want to print but don’t have access to a Risograph? Come to a 2-day class at my studio in Humboldt Park, Chicago!

During the first class, you will get a brief demo on how Riso printing works and learn how to make color separations. The class will make 1 collective print, to better understand the process, and then you will have time to design and then print a 2 color image. You will leave the first class with ten 2-color prints on 8.5x11” paper.

By the end of the first class, you'll have a better understanding of the Riso printing process. You'll then have a whole week at home to think about and design your next print. Bring your color separated week to the second class, and during the second class, you can print a 3-color image. The studio will provide 8.5x11" off-white paper or cardstock. If you'd like to print on a different type/color/size paper, you can bring your own. You'll leave the second class with ten 3-color prints.

When making your color-separations, you can work with:

traditional media (pens/pencils/markers) on paper; collage; digital programs/apps like Photoshop, Procreate, etc; or a combination of these things.

If you plan to work digitally, you will need to bring your own device, such as iPad or laptop, and be familiar with the programs/apps you plan to use. You can also print using photos from your phone (you can get them to me during the class.)

I have a small collection of collage materials & rubber stamps - if you have something specific you’d like to work with, please bring your own images.

My studio is located in the Humboldt Park neighborhood of Chicago, near California & Division Streets. You will receive the exact address once you sign up for the class.

This class is for adults aged 18 and over.
