Join us for an intensive 2-day 16-hour course tailored to equip LA County Residents/Applicants with the knowledge and skills necessary for a California Concealed Carry Weapons permit. Hosted by AAPT (Eight seven-7, seven six-5, one, four, 2, eight), our mission is to provide a thorough understanding of state and federal laws pertaining to the use of force, safe gun handling, marksmanship, situational awareness, basic mental health considerations, less than lethal solutions, tactical strategies, 4-count draw techniques, scenarios, and live fire qualification. Led by seasoned instructors Natalie, Richard, and Josh, each session is designed to be engaging, interactive, and transformative. Course Details:Location: 6819 Sepulveda Blvd. Van Nuys CA. 91405
Time: 9 am start each day
Range Qualification: Private Range in Sylmar Ca. or
MB- Tactical, 5822 Holser Canyon Rd. Piru Ca. 93040
Prerequisites: This is not a beginners' class! Participants must be proficient in firearm handling, including disassembly, assembly, and handling stoppages on the firing line during range qualification.
LASD/PD Standardized Course of Fire for Certification:Target: B-27 Target
Course of Fire: 24 rounds at each of the (3) specified distances without time limitation.
Firing Distances: 3 yards, 5 yards, 7 yards
Minimum Passing Score: 70% (17 of 24 rounds) within the 7-ring of the B27 Target at each distance.
Other Requirements: Safe loading, unloading, and reloading of handguns, as well as addressing stoppages during the course of fire.
Gear and Equipment Requirements: Eye and ear protection
Conceal Carry Holster
Speedloader (Optional)
2 to 4 magazines
Primary handgun (100 rounds of ammo)
30 rounds of ammunition for each additional gun
Note: The firearm(s) intended for permit use must be utilized during the course. Course fees cover handouts and range fees.
