2-Day Advanced Home Inspection Training

Advanced Home Inspection Training Class

Dates: Thursday and Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM

Note: The registration page displays only the first day, but this is a comprehensive 2-day training. Lunch is provided each day.

Please note: This class is not geared towards beginners. Inspection basics are not covered during this training.

This two-day Advanced Home Inspection Training Class at the House of Horrors® will provide in-depth coverage on the following topics:

• Electrical Systems: Panels, bonding and grounding, age-related issues (e.g., arc faults)
• Plumbing Systems: Including private well/septic systems, and issues related to water supply and waste lines
• Heating Systems
• Structural Issues: Common masonry cracks, identifying normal settling vs. structural issues needing further evaluation
• EIFS and Modern Synthetic Stucco Systems
• Inspection Protocol: Strategies to minimize liability and increase referrals

The Advanced Class offers comprehensive instruction that goes beyond a simple visual inspection, beneficial for handling knowledgeable and inquisitive clients.

Class Schedule:

Day 1:

• Stucco Inspections: Deep dive into stucco inspections using stuccoed panels and other siding samples for hands-on examination
• HVAC Systems: Examination of furnaces and boilers, including issues and questions about flue clearances and materials for high-efficiency appliances
• Business Topics: Discussions on business topics and other inspection concerns

Day 2:

• Plumbing Systems: In-depth coverage of problematic plumbing materials, scald temperatures, plumbing codes, water heater flue issues, and well system operations
• Electrical Systems: Detailed inspection checklist of electrical panels, defect recognition, grounding and bonding, GFCI and AFCI requirements, aluminum wiring issues
• Siding and Roof Systems: Installation and proper flashing of James Hardie and LP Smartside siding, roof flashing requirements, advanced structural issues, roof truss issues
