Tampa Bay Women's Business Centre(WBC), is part of a national network of WBC's dedicated to helping  entrepreneurs to launch and grow their own businesses.Funded through the Federal office of Women's Business Ownership, our team of professionals help entrepreneurs with training and coaching in entrepreneurial readiness, business plan development, networking, strategic planning, finance preparedness, career transition and access to capital.From registering your business to hiring your first employee, we’re here to help you start and grow your local small business. Tampa Bay Women’s Business Centre is a WBC resource partner, funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the Small Business Administration (SBA). The Office of Women’s Business Ownership’s mission is to establish and oversee a network of Women’s Business Centers (WBCs) throughout the United States and its territories. Through the management and technical assistance provided by the WBCs, entrepreneurs – especially women who are economically or socially disadvantaged – are offered comprehensive training and counseling on a vast array of topics to help clients start and grow their own businesses.It is currently the only WBC funded in part through a Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) on the West Coast of Florida serving the needs of start-ups and existing owned businesses in our area. A breakdown of  the differences between nonprofit vs. for-profit structures so leaders can choose the right path for their mission and money

Choosing the right business structure impacts your funding options, taxes, operations, compliance requirements, and long-term growth. In this workshop, you’ll learn the key differences between nonprofits and for-profit businesses in language that actually makes sense. We’ll cover how money flows in each structure, what the IRS expects, the role of boards and owners, how they are run, and the common mistakes leaders make when choosing a structure. Rolanda S. McDuffie, CPA, is a native of Tampa, FL. She graduated from High School, where she was first introduced to the field of accounting. She went on to attend North Carolina Agricultural &amp; Technical University. At NC A&amp;T, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Ms. McDuffie continued her education by obtaining an MBA and a Master’s in Accounting &amp; Finance as well.Ms. McDuffie manages a successful CPA firm, R.S. McDuffie CPA &amp; Associates, which she started over 12 years ago. Her professional passion is to assist in getting nonprofit organizations and for-profit businesses financially fit through the areas of accounting, taxes, advisory services and board training. We love helping nonprofit organizations grow and sustain themselves so that they have the ability and resources needed to make a greater impact on the communities that they serve. We love to focus on the numbers so that nonprofits can spend more time focusing on their mission. We love Nonprofits and Numbers.That same passion is what drives her to serve the community in various, related capacities. Her work with nonprofit organizations varies in different roles, ranging from an outsourced CFO to sitting on several boards. Ms. McDuffie is frequently called upon to provide her expertise at workshops, seminars, and conferences.She is also a published author of the book ‘Creating a Successful Nonprofit by Knowing Your Numbers.’
