This December, the Shanghai American Center invites you to a screening of “Theodore Roosevelt”, an episode from the historical documentary mini-series “Monument Men: The Road to Rushmore”. This episode explores why Theodore Roosevelt—the energetic reformer, trust-buster, and champion of conservation—was chosen as one of the four presidents immortalized on Mount Rushmore. More than just a biographical portrait, it highlights how Roosevelt’s leadership in ushering America into the 20th century, his efforts to protect natural landscapes, and his progressive vision for a modern nation helped shape the United States into a global power. Join us for this engaging look at Roosevelt’s dynamic legacy and the mountain that enshrined it.

参加活动请提前报名。活动会准时开始，是否有余位视现场观众到场情况而定。如果您到达时房间已满，您可能将不被允许进入，即使您已经报名。目前，我们只能保证到达的前80名观众入场。

Please be sure to RSVP if you intend to come. Programs begin on time and seats are subject to space availability. If the room is full when you arrive, you might not be granted entry, even if you RSVP'd. We can only seat the first 80 guests at this time.

Doors will open and security screening will commence 15 minutes before the program starts. You must bring a valid physical photo ID to enter the Shanghai American Center. Copies or pictures of IDs will not be accepted.

All personal belongings brought into the American Center will be scanned during security screening. Guests may not bring laptop computers to Shanghai American Center programs. Please note there is no place to store luggage or laptops outside the Center. Portable electronic devices, such as mobile phones, iPads and other tablets, and smartwatches without camera functionality are permitted.  However, prohibited personal wearable devices include, but are not limited to: 

• Smart glasses of any kind with active or passive camera functionality (e.g., Google Glass, Amazon Echo Frames, Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses) 

• Smartwatches with active or passive camera functionality 

• Any other wearable device with built-in cameras 

Additionally, no audio or video recording of the program will be permitted.

Shanghai American Center staff may capture photos or video during the event for future promotion of American Center events. Staff will make efforts during the event to gain verbal permission from individuals whose likeness is captured in footage to be used publicly. Granting permission allows the Shanghai American Center and the U.S. Department of State permission to publish photographs or video in which participants may appear for any lawful purpose, without payment, further approval, or any other consideration in perpetuity.
